The microcontroller outputs the same pulse width PWM to the motor, but with interference from factors such as power
supply voltage and wheel tightness, the actual output speed of the motor almost always changes.
How to solve this problem? Actually, we just need to change the input amount to the motor based on its actual speed.
For example, if we also hope that the motor can output 100 revolutions per minute under a load of 10 pounds, since the input to the
motor corresponds to an empty load of 100 revolutions per minute, and the actual output is only 80 revolutions per minute, we can consider
increasing the input to 120 revolutions per minute corresponding to an empty load. At this point, the actual output of the motor may be able to reach 100
revolutions per minute. Similarly, if the load continues to increase, we will further increase the input to control the actual output to remain at 100 revolutions per minute.
Most of Robomaster”s motors are equipped with Hall sensors that can provide feedback on speed/position information, so they can be controlled in a closed-loop manner.
Then let”s introduce what a typical feedback controller is (this model can be opened in Simulink in Matlab):
Generally, we subtract the measured output of the controlled object from our reference input to obtain an error value, which is then used as input to the controller.
The controller then outputs the result (control input) directly to the controlled object (plant).
