To stabilize a physical quantity in the frequency conversion system at the expected target value, the PID function circuit of the frequency converter
continuously compares the feedback signal with the target signal, and adjusts the output frequency and motor speed in real time based on the
comparison results. So, PID control of frequency converters requires at least two control signals: target signal and feedback signal. The target signal referred
to here is the electrical signal corresponding to the expected stable value of a certain physical quantity, also known as the target value or given value;
The actual value of the physical quantity measured by the sensor is referred to as the feedback signal, also known as the feedback quantity or current value.
The functional diagram of PID control is shown in Figure 2. There is a PID switch in the picture. The PID function can be activated or deactivated by setting the
functional parameters of the frequency converter. When the PID function is effective, the operating frequency is determined by the PID circuit; When the PID function is invalid,
the operating frequency is determined by the frequency setting signal. The working status of PID switches, action selection switches, and feedback signal switching switches is determined by the setting of functional parameters.
4. Target value given
How to transmit the command information of the target value (target signal) to the frequency converter? Various frequency converters have chosen different methods, and there
are generally two solutions: one is the automatic conversion method, which means that when the preset PID function of the frequency converter is effective, the frequency
setting function during open-loop operation is automatically converted to the target value setting.
